FACTUAL ACTIVITY RECORD · An activity record based on work that took place
Reorganizing Editorial Desk category navigation and management
Generating dynamic categories from public articles while safely managing Channel assignments
Purpose
Editorial reports needed thematic discovery without exposing internal Channels publicly, while administrators still needed to manage the relationship between Channels and categories.
Implementation
Manageable categories and Channel assignments were added to the database, with Control Center supporting category editing and required selection for Channels. Public tabs are generated from categories represented by published articles, begin with All, and show used feeds instead of Channel names. Category, cursor, locale validation, and redirects share one implementation.

Verification results
Full verification passed with 284 database assertions, 107 TypeScript tests, 67 Web tests, and 38 Swift tests.
Fixtures for three categories and responsive screens in both languages confirmed the flow from management through public filtering.
Basis for completion
The work was complete when category management, Channel assignment, public tabs, and query transitions were implemented and verified as one vertical slice.
